This year, we have been very busy developping a range of Spa products for proffessionals. We are currently selling in Thailand and we hope also start export towards the end of this year.

All the massage oils are blended in house while some products like massage creans or body scrubs are sourced with some of our wholesale oil clients.

The range have quickly gained market share in Bangkok and some resort cities and some clients are now also retailing the oils to increase their spa profitability.

Eyes aromatherapy

While browsing through the booths of the recently held "Health & Beauty show".
We found this gem : an aromatherapy eyepad filled with aromathic herbs.
Very easy to use, you microwave it a few minutes, lay down in your favorite relax spot, put on your eyes and forget the world around you.

Coming with Thai herbs or lavender, in silk or cotton. It can also be packed in a beautiful silk box.

Handmade soaps

To complete our product range, we are preparing in cooperation with a wonderful supplier, the introduction of handmade soaps made from carefully selected oils.

Olive, sesame, coconut, rice bran oil and essential oils artfully mixed will give you a wonderful experience.

Perilla virgin oil

We just introduced Perilla virgin oil (Perilla Frutescens) in our specialty oil range. Perilla is used for centuries in Japan and China.
The oil extracted from its seeds contains around 60% of Omega 3, twice as much as deep sea fish oils.
100% vegetal, the oil also address the needs of vegetarians who wish to increase their intake of Omega 3.

Vignobles Frederic Roger

Our principal visited yesterday several outlets in Bangkok with our retail distributor, Grand President Group.

Xavier and Philippe, enjoyed the visit and discussed the introduction of new wines in the Thai market among which a full range of Bordeaux and a wonderful Minervois, Chateau des Cordes.

THAIFEX 2009

The door closed yesterday on the 2009 edition of THAIFEX exhibition, the leading Food and Beverages exhibition in Thailand and the region.

The show was, as allways, interesting and some of our clients took the opportunity to discover new products for their respective markets.

Among new products, our rice bran oil principal was exhibiting for the first time rice bran oil infused with various herbs and spices.

Our favorite are definetely the Rice bran oil with rosemary & Rice bran oil with Thai chili. We plan to use them next weekend with a lamb shoulder which will serve with Chateau La DOMEQUE, a wonderful AOC Corbieres from Xavier Casal.

Wines

After a few months hardwork, we introduced in the domestic market a range of beautiful wines for our partner Frederic Roger Vignobles.
The range is now present in all main supermarket chains both local and international.
The collection includes Chateaux wines, Vin de Pays and a remarkable Spanish wine, Memento, retailed at 559 baht a bottle which is my favorite.

We are now looking into further development in the Hospitality industry.

Massage oils

We have been very busy for the last few months with many new projects. One of our preferred one is a new range of massage oils.
We developed the oils with an inspiring lady who follow products from the farming stage and distillate her essential oils.
She worked over 15 years in Europe in the sourcing of organic raw materials for a major cosmetic shop chain and moved on to new products formulation.
She came back in Thailand to set up this high quality operation. Working from her hometown, she develops her own network of organic farmers and set up an essential oils distillation workshop.
We currently launched 3 products :
Oriental massage oil, Anti-cellulite massage oil and a Sport massage oil.

The Sport oil is very interesting as it was developed with contact sports in mind thanks to the input of our rugby friends.
The anti-cellulite oil is alsovery efficient and successful and we are now preparing a Skin firming massage oil due to popular demand.

We launched in France already and are looking for distributors elsewhere.

Rice prices

Rice prices this weekend look on the increase again despite market's mixed signs. 8% lower than a month ago, they are showing sign of stabilization in an otherwise quiet market.
It might be a bit earlier to comment in a definite manner on the last two days small hike but it is wise to keep a close look on the next few days.

Rice bran oil

Beside rice, we are selling rice bran oil to several clients in Korea, Poland and France.
Extracted fromthe rice bran, the oil inherit of all the qualities of the rice.

Surprisingly unknown in Thailand, home of the some of the largest worlwide producers, rice bran oil is simply one of the best. Rich in anti-oxidant, vitamin E, tocopherols and gamma oryzanol, it brings a lot of health benefits to its users.

On a cooking ppoint of view, its neutral taste helps brings out the flavours of the ingredients. Its high smoking point at 230 celsius also avoid unpleasant smells generated by many oils which do not stand high temperature.

The high smoking also make itan economical oil as one would be able to re-use it several time without loosing any of its qualities.

Recently, we also started selling it to companies involved in nutraceuticals and cosmetics production in Europe.

Let's hope the results are as good as expected, it looks like a good excuse to visit Paris again.

Thailand is the world largest rice exporter.
We are active in this market and get a lot of inquiries.
This is a complex market, we are working with 5 different exporters to fit our clients requirements depending of type of rice and quantities, 3 of them ranks in the top fifteen Thai exporters.

This is needed because nobody can be expert in everything.

For example, companies shipping bulk will not be fitted to supply goods packaged for consumers, say, 1 kg bags or boxes. The other way round is true too, a lot of people get excited about a typical bulk shipment, at today's market prices, how many companies have the 10-12 millions USD cash needed on hand ?

Then there are niche markets like organic rice or specialty rice, japonica variety for example which is competitive in Thailand but hard to find.

I created my company Alodia with some friends and partners in November 2007. The company primary focus on trading and sourcing from my country Thailand although we have some very good suppliers in Vietnam.

Our activities range from food commodities to industrial supplies, based on our field experience and our personnal network. Contacts are very important here, only few companies are listed on business directories and the internet exposure is limited because many company owners do not speak English.

We divide our activity in 3 :
- Agro-industries
- Communication products.
- Purchasing consultants

My dream is to add production to these activities and I hope we will see that coming true in the next 2 years.
